First deputy Minister of Corrections of Georgia, Tamar Khulordava, director of The Folklore State Centre of Georgia, representatives of Dimitri Tsintsadze Foundation, clergy, relatives and family members of the prisoners attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition
In accordance with the prisoners' will, the amounts received from the exhibition-sale will be transferred to Dimitri Tsintsadze Foundation to help children with leukemia. According to the First Deputy Minister of Corrections of Georgia, Tamar Khulordava, participation of the convicts is important in all the events that rehabilitate them.
"It is worth to mention that the exhibition-sale is charitable, in accordance to the prisoners' will. Our institution promotes every activity that serves for the rehabilitation of the convicts. Their participation in individual activities and employment on the whole is one of the priorities of the Ministry of Corrections of Georgia. Today's exhibition serves to the promotion of kind work and returning them to society as the valuable members" - Tamar Khulordava said.
The representative of Dimitri Tsintsadze Foundation, Dito Tsintsadze thanked the convicts for this initiative. "I would like to thank those prisoners, who have made these handmade icons and bracelets for the kind aim. The money received from the sale will be transferred to help children suffering from leukemia and cancer. Also I would like to thank the Ministry of Corrections of Georgia, The Folklore State Centre of Georgia and the company "Gepra" for organising this event" - Dimitri Tsintsadze said.
